Today, March 6, our card will be:
Balance
We talked about balance yesterday and this will be a theme throughout our month, I’m sure, because balance is a universal state that we all need more of in our lives.
But it’s also one of the harder ones to acheive. Just this morning, for instance, I’ve had to balance work with life and that has made me late for my morning cup of tea.
Now, I feel all discombobulated, but that’s okay. I’ll adjust my schedule slightly and move forward. That’s not always easy to do, especially when you feel that there are forces (work, family, whatever) constantly pulling at you. Being the center point in a tug of war is not conducive to maintaining balance. Being a center point that stands firm is, though.
So, what do we do about it? We can’t control what others need from us, or the pressures they put on us to have those needs met. Sometimes it’s as simple as saying no. Or even not right now.
Yeah, I know that’s not a simple thing. Trust me, I do. Sometimes putting our foot down is a necessary thing, though. For our own wellbeing, at least. And really, how much help can you provide to others when you’re so far off-balance you can barely even stay upright?
Today, I urge you to avoid extremes in all areas of your lives. Maybe it’s not the day to get on Facebook and argue politics. You won’t change anyone’s mind anyway. Well, that’s not entirely true. You’ll change their minds about you, maybe, but probably not their fundamental belief system. State your thoughts and move on. It’s enough.
Take today to think about what makes you feel centered and strong. Do some Yoga. Plenty of lessons in balance with Yoga. It’s all about building strength from your center point.
Bloodstone is today’s companion stone.
